What About Dental Insurance?
Our office will work closely
with you on your insurance coverage. We will do all we can
to assist you through the often complex and confusing insurance
process. Please give us all the required information to accurately
process your insurance forms. Most insurance companies do
not cover dental treatment at 100% and reserve the right to
deny coverage. It does not necessarily mean that the procedure
isn't needed or that it isn't appropriate. It simply means
that the insurance company may not cover the treatment. Our
experienced team can help you maximize your insurance coverage,
and can often collect directly from the insurance company.
We are fully ready to meet all your dental care needs, just
call to schedule your first visit today.
How Important Are Regular Check-ups?
Basically, if you ignore the
importance of regular check-ups, you may end up paying for
it in more ways than one. The majority of dental problems
that arise are minor and can be corrected if caught early.
When patients get in the habit
of skipping regular check-ups, these minor problems can become
major in even a short amount of time. Also, in addition to
the diagnostic aspects of regular appointments, your professional
cleanings help to reach bacteria and plaque that is not always
possible with home care techniques.
Make sure you visit us every
3-6 months, depending on the advice of your dental care professional
- you could be saving years of costly dental treatment in
the future.
What can I do to relieve
dental anxiety?
Knowledge is the greatest defense
against anxiety.
Avoiding caffeine before your
dental appointment can make you less anxious.
Eating high-protein foods produces
a calming effect, unlike sugary foods.
Focus on breathing during the
procedure at a regular and slow pace. When you are nervous
you tend to hold your breath, which decreases oxygen levels
and further increases feelings of panic.
If you have specific fears,
talk to any one of experienced staff members . We will do
what we can to dispel any negative or frightening images you
may have.
What will the dentist do
to relieve my anxiety?
Our dentists work to reduce
your anxiety before you ever step foot in our offices. This
process begins on the phone, when you make your appointment
with us. Our staff will inform you of what to expect and answer
your questions to ensure your confidence and comfort during
your visit.
Once you arrive for your appointment,
our dentist will have done a lot to ensure that every aspect
of your visit is designed to create optimal comfort. All of
our offices offer magazines, newspapers and dental health
information and resources, for your leisure and information.
Our offices also accommodate a play area for children, in
addition to television and/or music in the waiting room and
operatories. An understanding of your dental health and the
dental services or treatment that you will discuss with the
dentist, will also help to relieve dental anxiety.
Why am I anxious in the dental office?
People are anxious about going
to the dentist for different reasons including worrying about
the effectiveness of localized anesthetic and feeling like
the dentist is rushed or is neglecting your concerns. Other
factors include anticipation of pain, the cost of the procedure,
past experiences, and even the sterile smell of the dental
office. Interrupting the normal day's routine to visit the
dentist also is a factor in general anxiety.
Am I a candidate for sedation
dentistry?
If you hate the noises, smells
and tastes associated with dental care and offices and you
can't block them out, then you may want to experience "twilight
sleep" while we do the work.
Recent research has indicated
that the number one reason adults postpone needed dental care
was fear! That's right, not time, not money, but fear! Yet
dental decay and periodontal disease do not make exceptions!
If you have any of the following:
> Fear of dental treatment
> History of traumatic dental experiences
> Difficulty getting numb
> Very sensitive gag reflex or difficulty opening
> Extremely sensitive teeth
> Limited time to get your dental care completed
> Complex dental problems; or a need for surgery
> In denial of a dental problem until the pain is unbearable
> Have not received professional dental care in many years,
perhaps decades
> Experience sweaty palms or find yourself gripping the
armrests
then yes, you are a candidate!
Call our office, to determine
the options available to you.
